iTAC ARTES is a Java EE5-based technology platform for high-performance solutions in various sectors of industry. The platform-independent middleware is the technological basis of the iTAC.MES.Suite manufacturing execution system supporting standardized interfaces to ERP and other systems.

iTAC ARTES meets the automotive industry’s requirements. OEMs and engine management system providers, in particular, have to manage incredibly complex production processes (both vertical and horizontal). They have to facilitate the necessary data flows while remaining flexible and ensuring compliance with stringent IT security and other requirements. This is only possible if processes are transparent and efficient.

One of iTAC’s initial SCM customers, for example, has defined its objectives for Software Configuration Management for ECUs as follows: The planning and management of changes in ECU (engine control unit) software, the identification and tracking of changes in the ECU software and the reconciliation of its own and its supplier’s projects and deadlines. For the overall project management activities, project progress has to be mapped, planning reliability has to be enhanced and costs have to be reduced.
