Six Sigma

Six Sigma is a systematic procedure using analytical and statistical methods, which can support an almost faultless process. The main targets are quality improvement and cost reduction. Accurately predictable and consistent results should be achieved with identical process controls.

The name Six Sigma comes from the requirement that the next tolerance limit is at least 6 standard deviations (Six Sigma) away from the average. Only then can one assume that a zero-fault production can be achieved.
