The special logistics concept

Just-In-Sequence (JIS) comes from procurement logistics and is a further development from Just-in-Time production (JIT). According to the JIS concept, the supplier must not only ensure that the required modules are supplied punctually in the required quantity, but also that the sequence of the required modules is correct. JIS is used especially in the automotive industry. The run-up time until installation of the unit or module in the customer’s production line may only be a few hours depending on the production system.
