The API – Service Adapter presents the interface components for mapping the vertical integration of production plants.
Mapping a production line in the iTAC.MES.Suite cannot be achieved without the use of special API processes for all capacities and connected client/server communication. This is the only way that the application and the database server can receive the necessary, serial-number related data from production.
The explanatory power of a traceability system rises and falls with the care taken when handling the API functions available. For this reason, a comprehensive understanding of the APIs is absolutely necessary. In order to enable problem-free communication between all capacities and the application server, knowledge of the data structure, the data types deployed and the setup of the function calls is required.
The training introduces the participants to
the connection possibilities to the iTAC.MES.Suite,
the setup and structure of the API functions,
the iTAC.MES.Suite data types as well as
the connection establishment and termination possibilities.
Most of the training deals with API program processes for a number of typical scenarios. These are of fundamental importance because the interlocking concept can only be realized by adequately converting the API program processes. When combined correctly, many functions form a logical building block to connect a station in the productive system to the iTAC.MES.Suite.
When a training unit has been completed, the participants are able to read all API program processes created by the Professional Service of iTAC Software AG and to create and deploy their own processes.
If requested, OPC UA can also be a central topic for training. We at iTAC are the first suppliers to offer the interface standard OPC UA when integrating into the iTAC.MES.Suite. OPC Unified Architecture is the latest OPC specification from the OPC foundation and is very different from its predecessors.
One of the most important innovations of OPC Unified Architecture is the possibility to deploy OPC UA applications independent of the platform. The direct and standardized exchange of data between controlling and MES systems is now possible.
