This list of logistics buzzwords stands for the
increase in pressure faced by enterprises in competition. Enterprises confront
the changing demands of the market with Just-in-Time (JIT) and more recently
also Just-in-Sequence (JIS). Consideration of individual customer requirements,
more transparent processes, lower stock levels, increased productivity, a
decrease in costs for capital commitment, an increase in ROI, cheaper end
products – production following the JIT/JIS principle clearly has its
The special logistics concept
Just-In-Sequence (JIS) comes from procurement
logistics and is a further development from Just-in-Time production (JIT).
According to the JIS concept, the supplier must not only ensure that the
required modules are supplied punctually in the required quantity, but also
that the sequence of the required modules is correct. JIS is used especially in
the automotive industry. The run-up time until installation of the unit or
module in the customer’s production line may only be a few hours depending on
the production system.
Integration of the iTAC.MES.Suite into the JIS concept
The iTAC Software AG product also convinces in the
logistical and production-critical enterprise environment as all necessary
functions and components required by JIT/JIS production are integrated into the
iTAC.MES.Suite by default.
The iTAC.MES.Suite includes active traceability and
interlocking processes to ensure that erroneous production steps are already avoided
during the manufacturing process, that quality problems during the production
processes are detected in real-time, that causes are analyzed and that corrective
measures can be assessed systematically and in quasi real-time during a
continuous improvement process.
Overview of the function highlights:
Reliable high availability and reliable system architecture
Acceptance of individual calls via ERP integration
Fault avoidance through staff guidance and interlocking
Management of manufacturing documents and electronic displays (paperless manufacturing)
Integration of manufacturing and transport equipment (e.g. electric suspension tracks)
The functional characteristics of the
iTAC.MES.Suite provides a decisive component in
the implementation of a zero-fault strategy. It guarantees the ability to
deliver and delivery reliability to the customer.
