iTAC.MES.Suite is an MES solution based entirely on Internet technologies (JAVA). The use of Java ensures that iTAC.MES.Suite (server and client) runs on almost all platforms.
The Java programming language was developed by Sun Microsystems. Java programs so called applets, can generally run on different computers and operating systems without modification.
With the integration of iTAC.MES.Suite in mySAP ERP, the ERP/PPS level is merged with the shop floor. This guarantees continuous, standardized “active closed-loop traceability“ across the entire supply chain for SAP users.
In November 2006 iTAC.MES.Suite became the first MES system worldwide to receive the client/server certificate for the MES interfaces OPC Data Access 2.0 and 3.0. Since 2007 iTAC has offered the OPC UA interface standard for the integration of its iTAC.MES.Suite.
The use of OPC Unified Architecture in MES projects simplifies the integration of MES systems in the automation systems thereby enabling the creation of simpler and more flexible systems.
One of the most important innovations of OPC Unified Architecture is the platform-independent implementation of its applications. The direct and standardized exchange of data between the control systems and the MES is now possible.
An Oracle database is used by default in iTAC.MES.Suite. Performance – reliability – platform independence: Oracle traditionally uses open standards and platforms such as Unix and Java for its entire product range.
A further reason for choosing Oracle is the fact that Oracle databases are platform-independent.
In addition, ITAC is a member of DOAG (Deutsche Oracle Anwendergruppe - German Oracle User Group), the only interest group for users of Oracle products in Germany. The group is independent of Oracle Deutschland GmbH both financially and legally. The objective of DOAG is to exchange information and knowledge about the use, handling and experiences with Oracle products and to act as a lobby for users vis-à-vis the producer.
