AG’s Pipe Tracking System (iPTS) is the only standard software of its kind
worldwide. With a comprehensive range of functions, it supports pipeline
planning, construction and operation. In the Nord Stream Pipeline project, it
proved to be a valuable tool for the pipeline construction teams, operators,
contractors and suppliers.
Continually increasing energy requirements and demands
for greater supply reliability are resulting in an increasing number of energy
providers introducing digital grid management concepts. Irrespective of whether
the pipes transport gas, oil, water or other resources, information about the
materials that have been installed, their properties and where they have been
installed is becoming increasingly important, especially when faults occur and
future faults have to be prevented.
The iTAC Pipe Tracking System is a platform-independent standard solution based
on modern information technology that can map the entire pipeline construction
process. All process parameters for all contractors are recorded for each pipe
segment and automatically checked for correctness and completeness. Even after

Europe. iTAC’s pipe tracking system played an essential role in the
construction process. It was crucial to the efficient and safe process of
laying the first section of the Baltic Sea Pipeline.
